Trustworthy News
We, the management of media members of the Indonesian Cyber Media Association (AMSI), realize that the credibility and public trust in the media are the most valuable assets and must be maintained with the utmost care.
Therefore, we declare our commitment and determination to comply with and implement these Trustworthy News Indicators as guidelines for governance in our media operations.
These indicators include:
- Upholding and strictly adhering to the Journalistic Code of Ethics and the Guidelines for Online Media Reporting as the main principles of editorial work.
- Prioritizing journalistic work in the public interest.
- Conducting journalistic work objectively, honestly, and without engaging in plagiarism.
- Meeting the standards of a press company and fulfilling the press company verification process as stipulated by law and Press Council regulations.
- Publicly disclosing to readers the names of those responsible, the address, the editorial and management structure, as well as the company’s ownership details.
- Respecting diversity, minority groups, and human rights as guaranteed by the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.
- Not promoting or advertising prohibited products such as narcotics, illegal drugs, illegal weapons, or smuggled goods.
- Not reporting in a manner that demonstrates or expresses support for acts of terrorism or racism.
- Producing editorials that protect children and women who are victims of violence, bullying, pornography, sexual crimes, or gender-based discrimination.
- Clearly labeling content so that readers can easily distinguish between news, opinion, and advertorial or sponsored/paid content.
- Respecting and protecting the personal data and privacy rights of readers or website visitors.
